Q. Do we need to hire a car, how do we go about it?

A. Yes, a car is essential.

Q. Where can we hire a car from?

A. At the airports you can collect a hire car. Most main companies are represented including Avis, Hertz, Europcar, Auto-Europe and Sixt. Pre-booking is advisable.

Q. How far is the accommodation from the airports?

A. Casa Tranquilla is about 75 minutes from Ancona, and about 2 hours from Pecara, Rimini and Bologna (Forli).

Q. Do we have to pay on Italian motorways (autostrada)?

A. Yes, but it is very cheap (currently about 3 euros from Ancona North to Civitanova Marche exit). You can pay with credit cards.

Q. How far is it from Casa Tranquilla to the nearest village?

A. Loro Piceno is about 1 mile from your apartment. It is within walking distance, but uphill.

Q. Is the apartment near the shops and restaurants?

A. Yes, Loro Piceno has a full range of shops including supermarkets, banks, bakeries, butchers, cafes, restaurants, post office, ice cream parlour and petrol station.

Q. We have a young child. Do you provide facilities?

A. Yes, we have a cot and a high chair.

Q. Is the property suitable for infirm and elderly guests?

A. The apartments are not suitable for wheelchair access. Infirm or elderly guests would find the path down to the swimming pool a challenge but elsewhere not really a problem.

Q. What are the arrangements for refuse disposal?

A. There is now a requirement for refuse to be recycled. Bins are provided in each apartment for you to dispose of clean paper, plastics, glass and metals.

Q. Do you provide beach towels?

A. No, guests are only asked to bring their own beach towels. All other linen is provided.

Q. Where is the nearest hospital?

A. The nearest hospital is about 20 minutes away in Macerata.

Q. Is there someone we can contact locally if there is a problem?

A. Yes, we have a local British agent who looks after the pool, house and garden. In the first instance please give us a call.

Q. Is there any information on places of interest and things to do?

A. Yes, each apartment is equipped with a Le March tourist guide, walking books and maps, and tourist brochures. We also suggestyou visit the website Marche Voyager for more information on the Le Marche region of Italy.
